Reducing engine idling, speding and unnecessary journeys means encouraging drivers to improve their behaviours. GreenerFleet’s driver league table creates a score for each driver, which can be tracked over time.
It identifies those drivers that need more support and education and is a great way to make people aware of the difference they can make, just by making a few simple positive changes to the way they drive. By sharing the scores, drivers can see where they rank against their peers, further encouraging their improvement. Your people soon realise that greener driving is more cost effective, and is safer too.
The Carbon Footprint
GreenerFleet allows you to track the performance of your vehicles over time across a range of factors so that you can see the results of your efforts to improve driver habits and also to reduce unnecessary road miles. Comparing your current performance to a baseline, you are able to track improvements in speeding, engine idling, CO2 emissions and also use of fuel. This in conveyed through a unique visual graphic.
Drive for Life – powered by GreenerFleet
Exclusively for Masternaut customers, Drive for Life is a safe driving competition that uses objective data from the GreenerFleet system. A Drive for Life toolkit provides everything you need to successfully run your competition including marketing materials for promoting your scheme internally. It also includes prize certificates that you can personalise and print for the winning drivers. Drive for Life is a quick and easy way to engage with drivers and educate them about safety and duty of care.
Duty of Care – keeping your people safe
Built into GreenerFleet are driver safety tools to aid you in meeting your duty of care obligations. From excess shift length to speeding events, it ensures you have visibility of the way your drivers behave when they are representing your organisation on Britain’s roads. The system reports on:
- Excess Shift – where a driver has worked in excess of 10 hours in one day, starting with the first ignition on and ending when the engine is finally switched off.
- Excess Journey – where a driver has driven for more than 2.25 hours without taking a break.
- Excess speed – this counts the number of times the vehicle has been recorded as exceeding the speed limit on that day. Thanks to the latest speed limit data on UK roads, we are able to show you by how much the limit was exceeded for each speeding event.
This information provides you with the insight needed to run a safe operation, with visibility of drivers who repeatedly display behaviours which increase the chances of them having an accident. A proactive approach to Duty of Care can potentially reduce the downtime, high costs and reputation issues associated with road traffic accidents.
Keeping mobile people safe on their mobile!
You can upload itemised mobile phone call data (available from your network operator). GreenerFleet then cross-references this with data from the Masternaut tracking system and identifies occasions where drivers were using their phones while at the wheel.
Fuel Management
Getting accurate information on fuel performance is key to managing down your costs and controlling your vehicle emissions. The Fuel Management facility allows you to record fuel purchases and link these to the actual mileage driven by the vehicles in your fleet. Only by doing this can you get accurate information on their actual mpg performance . Our sophisticated reporting allows you to identify performance at an individual vehicle or driver level. You can import existing fuelcard data using the CSV upload facility and additionally, individual transactions can be recorded directly on the website.
Use of GreenerFleet’s fuel management will give you an accurate picture of MPG performance for your vehicles and will also flag discrepancies which could indicate fuelcard misuse of fraud.
Engine Management - CANbus
Where more detailed information about driver behaviour is required, Masternaut offers a full CANbus solution that connects to the FMS gateway on vehicles. It provides detailed insight into fuel use, braking, acceleration and use of onboard electronics and warning lights.
Masternaut has also now developed the latest in contactless canBUS technology. The new EMU (engine management unit) is a contactless clip which is retrofitted to vehicles. It requires no connection to the vehicles’ CAN, and therefore collects all the insight and data you require with zero impact on vehicle warranty.
